FAQ

Most Common Questions

How do I know if I have a hearing problem?

Signs of a potential hearing problem include difficulty understanding conversations, frequently asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the volume on electronic devices, and experiencing ringing or buzzing sounds in the ears (tinnitus). If you suspect a hearing problem, it is recommended to schedule an appointment for a comprehensive hearing evaluation.

What can I expect during a hearing evaluation?

A hearing evaluation typically involves a series of tests conducted by an audiologist to assess your hearing abilities. These tests may include pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, middle ear assessment, and other specialized assessments. The results help determine the nature and severity of your hearing loss, if present, and guide appropriate treatment options.

What is audiology?

Audiology is the branch of healthcare that focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Audiologists are professionals trained to assess and manage various conditions related to hearing and balance.

Are hearing aids the only solution for hearing loss?

Hearing aids are a common and effective solution for many individuals with hearing loss. However, the appropriate treatment depends on the specific type and severity of the hearing loss. Audiologists will recommend the most suitable intervention, which may include hearing aids, assistive listening devices, cochlear implants, or other options.

Can hearing loss be prevented?

While some forms of hearing loss are unavoidable, certain preventive measures can help protect your hearing. These include minimizing exposure to loud noises, wearing ear protection in noisy environments, avoiding the use of cotton swabs to clean the ears, and seeking prompt treatment for ear infections or other related conditions.

What is vertigo?

Vertigo is a sensation of spinning or dizziness that can be accompanied by nausea, imbalance, or unsteadiness. It is often caused by disorders in the inner ear or the vestibular system. Our clinic offers comprehensive evaluations and treatment options for vertigo and balance disorders.

I have learned a great deal from Dr Post about the management of patients with anterior knee pain and/or patellar instability. I have never seen a more thoughtful and organized physician who considers each patient as an individual, not just a problem.

Very kind and caring staff. They did a number of tests on me and found nothing wrong which is great as my vertigo has not reoccurred recently. It is reassuring knowing there is no underlying issue they could find and that they have my info on file incase the vertigo comes back. Thank you.

I never knew Stop Falls Canada ever existed until I got referred to the clinic with Dr. Mosleh. I’ve had many episodes of vertigo for several years from its mildest form to its severe form that it had affected my way of life. The symptoms got worse as I got older. My vertigo’s severe symptoms ( dizziness, spinning , feeling of floating and nausea ) had feared me of going to beautiful places, dining, shopping or even just simply short errands to the convenience store. If it necessitated me to go out I had to be back the soonest I can. All these because of fear of falling and inconvenient my family or friends when I became ill.Dr. Mosleh is very professional and he explained to me all the procedures that he had to do during the assessment and treatment. This alleviated my anxiety on the first day of visit. All my symptoms completely disappeared on the fourth day after my treatment. I can now dress up with fancier shoes that require me to bend down for their buckles and laces. I’ve recently taking the stairs and went back to my daily walking and jogging. I’ve been to the usual places that I enjoyed with family and friends.Dr. Mosleh, thank you very much for your help. Please extend my gratitude to your staff . Many people suffer similar symptoms that I had . It can’t hurt if their family doctors can refer them to StopFalls Canada.

The mission of StopFalls CANADA is to be a national leader in the provision of collaborative, patient-centered, and comprehensive balance healthcare for individuals of all ages, exemplified by excellence in patient outcomes, fall prevention programs and strategies, and services.
